The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has assisted manufacturing firms, nonprofit (501(c)(3) organizations, educational institutions and health care organizations, as well as water treatment plants and pollution control facilities.
The Authority aims to maintain a high level of employment and create and maintain business opportunities.
The IDA works by:
-Borrowing money from private sector financing institutions
-Loaning this money to Montgomery County companies to finance projects
-Securing below-market interest rates on loans that are tax-exempt to the lender

2008 Projects
Acme Corrugated Box Company- $5 million tax-exempt loan to finance the acquisition of new equipment. Approximately 200 jobs will be retained and nine new jobs created.
Archdiocese of Philadelphia- $48 million tax-exempt revenue bond issue will be used to construct a new 210,000 square foot high school in Upper Providence Township.
The Baldwin School- $18.5 million bond issue to refinance existing tax-exempt debt which was originally used to finance the construction of a new athletic facility.
Fitzpatrick Container Company- $1.8 million tax-exempt revenue bond issue to refinance existing debt. This reduced debt service will assist the Company in retaining approximately 65 employees.
Haverford School- $34.8 million bond issue to refinance existing debt that was originally issued to finance the construction of a new upper school.
The Hill at Whitemarsh- $6 million of tax-exempt revenue notes to finance the completion of a continuing care retirement community. Approximately 150 jobs will be created.
LaSalle High School- $7.5 million tax-exempt revenue bond for finance renovations to several of the School's existing facilities.
Mitos Incorporated- $1.1 million tax-exempt loan to acquire and renovate a new facility. Approximately 30 jobs will be preserved and 15 new jobs will be created.
The Shipley School- $15.5 million tax-exempt bond issue to refinance existing debt; the original bond proceeds were used to finance the construction of an academic building and gymnasium.
S.T.I. Computer Services, Inc.- $3 million tax-exempt revenue note used to finance the acquisition and renovation of a manufacturing facility in Lower Providence Township. Approximately 80 jobs will be preserved and 25 new jobs will be created.
Streamlight, Inc.- $4.3 million tax-exempt revenue note to finance the construction of a 75,000 square foot addition to an existing manufacturing facility. One hundred and sixty-five jobs will be preserved and 35 new jobs will be created.
Triumph Controls- $5 million tax exempt revenue note to finance building renovations and equipment. Approximately 95 jobs will be preserved and 10 new jobs are expected to be created.
2007 Projects
Quaker Chemical Corporation- $5 million tax-exempt loan to refinance existing debt.
Haverford School- $46 million bond to finance the construction of a new upper school and to refinance existing debt.
The Hill at Whitemarsh- $2.65 million in tax-exempt revenue notes for the completion of a continuing care retirement community in Whitemarsh Township. Approximately 150 jobs will be created.
Buckman's Incorporated- $7.1 million tax-exempt loan to purchase equipment. Approximately 85 jobs will be preserved and 15 new jobs will be created.
Rosemont School- $12 million tax-exempt revenue bond issue to partially finance the construction of a new gymnasium, educational wing, and athletic fields.
LaSalle High School-$22.5 million tax exempt revenue bond to acquire land and construct a new education wing.
The Baldwin School- $12.5 million bond issue to finance the construction of a new athletic facility.
Fountain of Life Christian Academy- $10 million bond to finance the acquisition and renovation of a new facility.
Northwestern Human Services, Inc- $6.89 million tax-exempt bond to refinance existing debt.
Aqua Pennsylvania, Inc.- $49.66 million to finance the installation and upgrading of various water facilities in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.
